What is your current job and how long have you been doing it for?

I work as a Premier Relationship Manager for HSBC Premier. The main focus of this role is as a financial adviser, advising on clients investments and financial protection needs. I have been in this role for 1 year. This is my 5th role within HSBC, where I have been working for 5 years.

What does a typical day at the office look like for you?

Like many people no two days are the same and my role brings lots of variation. I generally meet with 3 clients a day from my portfolio of 700+, this can be for anything from a simple catch up and getting to know them, to providing financial advice on their savings/investments.

If you weren’t doing your current job what would you like to do?

I really enjoyed working in hospitality when I was younger. I used to work in outside catering and private birthday parties etc. I really enjoyed the social side of this work and getting to try lots of nice food and drink, however the hours are really unsociable and working most evenings and weekends is not for me!

What was your first job?

Maybe not a job as such, but at 14 I qualified as a football referee to earn some money and I did that until I was 18/19. My first job after that was as a waiter whilst I was studying.

How long have you been involved in YBG and what have you got out of being a member?

I have been a YBG member since the start of 2014. I have gained a lot from YBG, it was a great way to meet new people and meeting new friends at my first event 2 years ago really helped me settle into life on the rock!
Since then I have met lots of people that I also deal with as part of my job.

What is your favourite thing to do in Guernsey?

Anything that involves a sea view! I came to Guernsey from the midlands and couldn’t have lived further from the coast. I love walking along the coast on a warm summers day and I also enjoy a bike pub crawl in the summer, which allows me to see some interesting pubs on the way round the island!

Which three people would you have at your dinner table and why?

Niall Quinn – He has been a player, manager and chairman for my football team, Sunderland. He is simply a legend and a real genuine man. I met him last year in the OGH on my birthday and would love to hear all his stories over dinner.
Brooke Vincent – I am not ashamed to say I am a massive Coronation Street fan and it would be nice to have some eye candy at the dinner table!
Liam Fray – I am a big fan of the Courteeners (he is the lead singer) and a live set would go down well with dinner!
