What is your current job and how long have you been doing it for?
I am a corporate lawyer at Walkers (Guernsey) and at the risk of giving my age away have been practising now for 12 years…
I worked in South Africa and moved to Guernsey in 2008.
What does a typical day at the office look like for you?
Every day is different, which is one of the wonderful things about being a lawyer – you never know what will hit your desk next. Two things remain constant, however, the fact that I am always five minutes late arriving at the office (despite living five minutes away) and that one of my corporate team colleagues will no doubt share the latest unprintable story involving their cherubs or doggies.
If you weren’t doing your current job what would you like to do?
A travel presenter…I know dream on!
What was your first job?
Working in a frozen yoghurt shop
How long have you been involved in YBG and what have you got out of being a member?
Approximately 6 months, and whilst I haven’t been able to attend all of the events, I think it’s a great informal networking opportunity.
What is your favourite thing to do in Guernsey?
Exercise, drink wine, and spend time with friends (in no particular order of course…)
Which three people would you have at your dinner table and why?
My mother, father and brother who live in South Africa and who I miss dearly (plus my dad would cook and my mom would clean….only joking!)
