What is your current job and how long have you been doing it for?

Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at The Old Government House Hotel & Spa– since October so 5 months

What does a typical day at the office look like for you?

I only spend a total of about 45 minutes in the office per day, my real office is the hotel floor, supporting the team members with service and ensuring we are all giving the best 5 star service to our guests. I will take out some time in the day to carry out training with the team and also liaising with the Executive Head Chef with regards to menus and upcoming functions.

If you weren’t doing your current job what would you like to do?

I have no idea, I have never considered doing anything else apart from Hospitality.

What was your first job?

Working in my Aunty and Uncles Café which was on their farm, I was 14 when I started and washed the dishes and made tea & coffee. I loved it!

How long have you been involved in YBG and what have you got out of being a member?

I only joined in January but have already met some great people and by networking I have gained an insight into the other businesses in Guernsey

What is your favourite thing to do in Guernsey?

I love to go on cliff walks, it’s so peaceful and beautiful

Which three people would you have at your dinner table and why?

1. Fred Sirieix – He is very passionate about the hospitality industry, he seems a great character as a host on the TV show first dates but he is currently the General Manager of Michelinstarred restaurant Galvin at Windows at the London Hilton as well. He has so much experience so I would love to hear his stories and experiences in the hospitality industry.

2. Prince Harry – It would be great to get an insight into the royal family, he also seems very down to earth and think he would have a good sense of humour

3. My mum as she loves a dinner party and is very entertaining. She also loves Prince Harry so wouldn’t like it if I didn’t invite her along as well.
