DESCRIPTION:YBG February Event: An Evening with Peter Gill\n📍 The Ship & Crown (upstairs)\n📅 Thursday 12 February 2026\n⏰ 6:00pm – 10:00pm\n🎤 Talk begins promptly at 6:30pm (please arrive by 6:15pm) \nJoin us for our February YBG event as we welcome Peter Gill for an evening shaped by a lifetime at sea\, leadership in maritime safety\, and service to the island. \nPeter has spent his entire adult life involved in saving lives at sea. His career began with a major oil company before taking him around the world in senior marine project management roles. Along the way\, he represented the shipping industry at the International Maritime Organization (IMO)\, the marine branch of the United Nations\, and went on to serve nine years as Guernsey’s Harbourmaster. \nMost recently\, Peter retired as a Jurat of the Royal Court of Guernsey. He is a Life Governor of the RNLI and continues to play an active role in the management of the Guernsey lifeboat station\, a reflection of his long-standing commitment to maritime safety and public service. \nPeter will share stories and lessons from a career shaped by leadership\, responsibility\, and decision-making in high-pressure environments\, followed by time to connect and continue the conversation. \n🍸 Refreshments and canapés will be available\n🥗 Please let us know any dietary requirements when registering \nThis is also another free trial event\, so if you know someone who’s curious about YBG\, they’re very welcome to join us – Please email ybgsocials@gmail.com to reserve their place. \nSecure your spot here. \nWe hope you can join us!
